"Leading people to Christ, Learning to be Disciples, Loving through service."
Reverend Wade Cox joined the pastoral team of First United Methodist Church as Senior Pastor in June 2014. Wade, his wife, Susan, and their children, Davis and Brooke, are thrilled God has led them to the Covington community.
A graduate of Ole Miss, Wade earned a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has served churches in the Millington area, Dyersburg, and most recently in Medina. Wade is a devoted husband and father and cherishes his time with his family. He is an avid bicyclist and loves to travel.
Wade is a member of the Lakeshore United Methodist Assembly Board of Directors and serves on the Memphis Conference Board of Ordained Ministry.
Building relationships, caring for God's people, sharing His word, and connecting people to Christ are the cornerstones of Wade's ministry. He believes in helping each person in the church find a place to connect and a place to serve. A rich blessing in pastoring God's people is seeing their lives changed by Christ!
Wade strives to live by the words of his favorite Bible passage, Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." He looks forward to all God will accomplish through the people of this congregation!
Pastor Wade and the members of First United Methodist Church invite you to join us as we seek to follow God in building His kingdom in Covington and beyond!
