About Reelfoot Rural Ministries:
Reelfoot Rural Ministries is a 501(c)3 mission program of the Memphis Conference of the United Methodist Church located in rural northwest Tennessee. The four-county area served suffers extreme poverty with some of the lowest per capita incomes in the state. The agency provides services for children such as a Christmas toy store where their parents can purchase new toys for a minimal amount and a day care center.
Meals are delivered to homebound senior citizens and activities at the center are coordinated for seniors. Free dental and eye exam clinics are provided at the agency and volunteer summer work camps repair homes and provide other needed assistance to area residents. A thrift shop offers school supplies, furniture, household items and a food pantry.
The Men’s Bible Class, Friendship Class, and G.O. Class of our church all collect a large number of toys, bicycles and other gifts for the agency each year at Christmas, our church supports the work of the agency through the connectional giving of United Methodist Women and the Memphis conference, and individuals periodically give of their time and labor.
